Research Possible Partner--- The Trenwainton Gardens

03/02/2010. We went to the Trenwainton Garden  to do the primary research. It was raining. Everyone has got wet except me. I had my coat on^^. Although it was bad day to go but we had a special felling about the garden in the rain.

Research for possible partners

Trengwainton Gardens (National Trust)

I’ve been visited Trengwainton Gardens twice, and I found it was a good place to go and had fun. On the 3rd February 2010 we went to Trenwainton Garden to do the primary research. It was raining. Everyone has got wet except me. Although it was bad day to go but we had a special felling about the garden in the rain. Unfortunately I lost all of photos I took for my primary research. The gardener of Trengwainton Garden set up an aim for us to done. Make a poster for ‘Wet Nose Day’. I’ve done it quite well. For my interact project, I don’t think I would like to work with as my possible partner. There are a few reasons for it.

1, It is a good project to choose, but it’s rang has amount of limit. What I feel about is its target audience almost focus on tourist. It doesn’t connect to the local people very much. I guess people think it as a beautiful garden but not a useful garden.

2, It is a good project but I don't interested. I don't really get what they would like me to do. It just sounds complicate.

Research Possible Partners---The Tinners Way

Our tutor introduced a possible partner for us, The Tinners Way. They are a local community which is sponsored by lottery heritage. We met them in the college in a lesson on Friday. We watched the video they've made by last year for their project.  From the video I known they have been work with local community a lot and have a good relationship with local schools and villages as well. Their project 'The Tinners Way Walk' is basically walking around the old mining area. Aiming moneys for charities.
What I would like to do for it, record the journey of people walk on tinners way. I am afraid to walk 10miles. That is the main reason I won't choose the tinners way.
If I join in the tinners way, it will improve my photography skill also the writing skill.

Tre Project's Proposal

Title: The Tre Project
Production Start Date: Monday 19th April
Production Crew: Daniella Griffiths and Biyan Li
Production Company: Awen Productions
Detailed Description: We are going to make a film on the idea of home. We are going to make a film about Biyan’s Step Dad’s opinion of home. We will try and relate the places of how they were then to now by using footage and quick photographs. We will collect some archive footage and film a new interview of Biyan’s dad perception of home and all his memories. This film will be a documentary. We are going to make our own music in logic pro. We will keep it to the style of the footage at that particular time of the footage that’s showing or the storyline. Most of the story will be a voice over by Biyan’s dad but there will be a few clips of the interview. We are going to get some archive footage of some streets in Cornwall according to peoples stories. If we cannot get archive footage we will film the current location and put a filter on it to make it look old and we will do the same effect on photographs that we take. We will film modern footage of the areas that we have of old footage and places that bring memories to people we gather stories from. We will gather stories of Cornwall from people by using an mp3 recorder. The film will allow an insight into how the culture and place has changed. We might use the effect of looking at an image in an old Cornish book then it transforms into footage. We might make a short narrative about the idea above with the drama students based on old story of Cornwall and adapt it to our view of home either through the area or the topic of that story.

Target Audience: Our target audience is probably aimed at 40 - 80 year olds as they love looking back to their younger years and remembering what a particular place was like when they were growing up compared to now. Also I think is suited at documentary lovers as this is going to be a documentary style.

An Idea for Tre Project

I had a idea for the Tre Project.  We should film the present streets and show it in a black and white effect as the 1920s style for film. Then suddenly change it back to present. I think in that moment, I will get a feeling like it seemed like another lifetime. For example, it can be film in a street. Then in the background, a person are telling a history of the street.

Targets 17/May/2010

By the end of today,,
  • Do the blogs about the visiting speakers+ Treguniton garden.
  • Decide on footage you want from Tre Project
  • Find picture for what's on guide.

Find out my aim

Yesterday, we talked about the tre project and artists which work on the theme of home. We started at two words Cornwall & Home. I've got some idea for the project I am going to do.
I would like to interview my stepfather Graham, because he is a real Cornish and lives in Cornwall almost all his life. He can be the right person to talk about the Cornwall and what does home meas to him.

researh for possible partner-----The tre project

what is Awen?
awen is a media production social enterprise based in West Cornwall.
The ethos at the heart of awen productions is the creative use of digital media as a tool for positive social change.
Their work is about inspiring and empowering communities by telling stories.

awen is the Kernewek (Cornish language) word for inspiration/muse.
They operate with a "more-than-profit" ethos, which means all profits are routed directly back into community projects we're developing. The CIC format enables us to stay close both to the management and delivery of awen's projects.
The Tre Project is the project I would to do. It is interesting, great fun and mystery. It will be improve my research skill and filming skill. I would like to find out the story of the past and get in to know how did it happened.
